PROJECT COMPONENT

Component

a. Physical improvement of Rural Access Infrastructure: rural roads (approx. 1,625km total; approx. 125km per state) and bridges/culverts of generally up to 15m clear span (approx. 1,040m; approx. 80mm per state);

b. Physical improvement of Agro-logistics Centers (approx. 65; approx. five number per state);

 

c. Consultancy and supervision support for the planning, design, implementation and supervision of rural transport infrastructure and agro-logistics centers.

a. Maintenance and spot improvement of rural roads: - Routine maintenance (approx. 9,100km/year; approx. 700km per state); - Backlog maintenance/rehabilitation (approx. 2,600km; approx. 200km per state); - Spot Improvement (approx. 5,850km; approx. 450km per state); - Performance-based Maintenance Contract Piloting (approx. 260km; approx. 20km per state).
b. Implementation of activities to enhance agro-logistics performance: - Implementation of farm/cooperative level post-harvest agro-logistics study recommendations; - Implementation of activities to support SMEs at the agro-logistics centers.
 
c. Consultancies, studies and supervision support: - Consultancies and studies to support sector reform activities; - Consultancies. studies and supervision (road maintenance and spot improvement); - Consultancies and studies (agro-logistics activities)
Component
a. Goods purchase and supporting logistics and operating costs. b. Training and study tours.
c. Technical Assistance (TA).
 
d. Support activities linked to risk mitigation and resiliency (Table 6 provides details): - Support to GBV/SEA, Grievance Redressal and Citizen Participation; related risk mitigation activities; - Support to rural road safety activities; Support to rural road climate resiliency activities
